April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball stars to capture medals at more than one Olympics. She will be competing in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman who is a first-time Olympian. Ross hopes to win more than her first Olympic medal. It may well be that this is her only chance, at 39 years old. She's certain that the top prizes can be achieved. If we do our highest or perform well, I think we can get that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. In addition, I'll try the chance to have chances. Ross was born on the 22nd, 1982 located in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area along with her entire family. Ross went on to play in a myriad of sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete she played indoor track and volleyball. But she clearly was superior to the rest when it came to the second sport. The college bio says that she was an outside-hitting hitter middle blocker, as well as a setter in her volleyball playing career at high school. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player 1999. Her skills in volleyball brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Awards in 2000. Even though Ross and Klineman are in the spotlight from 2017 onward, the former was already an established player on the beach scene long before their pairing. Actually Ross has been a winner of several major tournaments in her career with two partners. One of them is a legend. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, from 2007 to the year 2013. Also, she coached Klineman and herself. Along together with Kessy Ross was awarded the World Championship in 2009 when she competed on the international circuit. In the 2012 Olympic Games, they received the gold medal. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement when she retired. Both went on to win the bronze beach volleyball trophy at the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. In high school and the many years before hitting the beach as a professional Ross played with the Trojans of USC as an collegiate. Ross's time in the Trojans was amazing. The year 2000 was her freshman year. was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the Award and also be named an All-American. The Trojans were also able to reach the Final Four with her help. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal loss in her sophomore year however she was able to return as an All-American. Over the course of the two years she played for the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them achieve consecutive championships. For her part, she cemented her place in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the top female college volleyball players across the United States. Ross took a course in the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the opportunity to see Ross' daughter blossom into a beach volleyball superstar. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. But, she will always hold her lost parent near and close. And Margie remains a source of inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday her daily life.
