Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is a famous American woman in business. She is the President and owner-controller of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is the daughter of a California native, and was raised by an affluent family. Jerry Buss, her father was a successful entrepreneur in the field of real estate and later was the owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. Her parents parted ways in 1972, which caused her to feel emotionally neglected. At the age of 19, she took over the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as the General Manager. Later, she established her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. The position she held was the president for Great Western Forum prior to becoming vice-president for the Lakers. Buss was the inheritor of her share of the Lakers from her father in 2013. Her five siblings took over the franchise through an estate trust.
